JULY IS INDEPENDENT RETAILERS MONTH

Throughout July we're celebrating Independent Retailer Month and urging everyone to shop local instead of at one of the large multi-national retail chains.  By supporting the small, independent retailers you are also helping the growth of your local economy.

LOVE YOUR LOCAL MARKET

THEFTS AT GLOSSOP MARKET COMPLEX

Three traders in the market complex (Market Hall, Market Arcade and Outdoor Market) have been targeted by a sneak thief in the past two weeks.  Could everyone please be on the lookout for a 30ish white male dressed in a green hat and green jacket and alert Glossop Police if you spot him acting suspiciously around the complex.  He is targeting personal property and cash and has even been spotted on tape eating food that a trader had left unattended!  He may be operating with others who are used to create a diversion whilst he targets traders bags etc.

Please be aware of this situation and don't leave anything of value unattended around your stall or till area and be vigilant for anyone who fits his description.

LAST WEEK OF LOVE YOUR LOCAL MARKET FORTNIGHT

Calling all potential market traders - this is your last chance this year to enjoy the benefits offered under the Love your Local Market Fortnight campaign.   Come and join us at Glossop Outdoor Market and try your hand during the 1st National Love your Local Market campaign which runs until 8th July.  Buy and try a stall for a tenner and get free insurance cover for the day provided by the National Market Traders Federation.

Glossop Outdoor Market is where Adam Corbally started out at the age of 19 and we are all very proud of what he's achieved with his hard work and positive attitude.  Now we're inviting potential traders to come and have a go too, you never know where it will take you.  Many multi-national businesses started out as market stalls, Marks and Spencer was just one of them and Lord Sugar stood the markets as a young man too so with the right attitude and determination there is a lot to be said for starting off as a market trader.

To find out more about becoming a trader on Glossop Outdoor Market send an email to
