A SUNNY DAY AT THE MARKET

Glossop Outdoor Market 12 May 2012  Early morning shoppers.

Customers and traders alike enjoyed the sunshine at the outdoor market today.  This was the first warm, sunny day we've had at the market this year and it was welcomed by all of us.  It was lovely to be able to spend time browsing the stalls and chatting with the locals and visitors to our beautiful market town in the High Peak of Derbyshire.

On the 2nd Saturday of every month the regular market plays host to the local produce market and there is always a dazzling array of goods on sale.  One of the most popular stalls on this special market is Howards Town Brewery where a selection of locally brewed traditional ale is available.  Another stall which always gets a lot of customers is full of delicious hand made cupcakes, meringues in a mouthwatering array of flavours and tasty open fruit tarts.  The author is guilty of buying several pieces of raspberry and  peach tart to be enjoyed this evening with a glass or two of wine!

Today was just the sort of day which made you want to linger outside the cafe and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and watch the world go by.
